Brooke Egbert, Psy.D.

Licensed Psychologist

Psychological Services for Children and Adolescents

Mission Statement

The mission of my practice is to provide a safe, inviting space for children and families to build important emotional coping and communication skills.  I utilize a strength-based treatment approach that is individually tailored to each client's particular needs.  I am committed to helping children experience competence, happiness, and positive social connections in all their key environments.

About Me

I received my doctorate in school-child-clinical psychology in 2002 from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University, Bronx, New York. I completed my pre-doctoral training at The Astor Home for Children, Rhinebeck, New York where I further honed my skills in play therapy and family therapy. Prior to Astor, I received clinical training working in both inpatient and outpatient pediatric settings as well as school systems.

I became licensed as a psychologist in 2004 and shortly thereafter, spent three years working as a school psychologist in Massachusetts.  During my tenure as a school psychologist, I was responsible for evaluating children with special needs and played a key role in planning their education.

When my family moved to Northeast Pennsylvania in 2007, I returned to working in a clinical setting and eventually opened my own practice in 2012. I have greatly enjoyed working with children and families throughout the Wyoming Valley and building relationships with colleagues from related mental health fields.  Within my private practice, I provide individual therapy for children and adolescents, family therapy, and play therapy for my younger clients. I also provide psychological testing for children and adolescents.  I have experience working with a wide range of psychological concerns in children  including  anxiety, depression, attention-deficit disorders, trauma, oppositional defiant disorders, autism spectrum disorders, learning/developmental disorders, family/school adjustment issues, among others.

I am proud to be a member of The American Psychological Association (APA), The Pennsylvania Psychological Association (PPA), Diplomate member of The National Center for Crisis Management, and the National Register of Health Psychologists.

Practice Availabilty: I am a solo practitioner and want to make sure that I have the time and resources to provide quality care to the children and families I see.  Due to the urgent need of mental health services for children in our community and limited number of therapists who specialize in working with young people, space for new clients is typically quite limited at any given time.  Please feel free to contact me and if I am unable to help, I will do my best to provide an appropriate referral for your child.
